2025 Ram 1500 vs. 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500
The current Ram 1500 and Silverado 1500 generations were first introduced in 2019 and slightly improved with each model year. Here's how the 2025 models compare.
Power and Performance
Both the 2025 Ram 1500 and the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 come with multiple engine options. Their base engines have a similar output, with the Ram's generating up to 305 horsepower and the Silverado's having a 310-horsepower output. Things change at higher trim levels, though. The Ram 1500's top engine choice generates up to 540 horsepower, while the Silverado's most powerful engine only has a 420-horsepower output. This difference is also reflected in their zero to 60 mph times. The Ram 1500 can get there in as little as 4.2 seconds, while the Silverado does it in 5.4 seconds.
Interior Space and Comfort
The 2025 Ram 1500's cabin is surprisingly comfortable for such a capable vehicle. There's excellent legroom in both rows, the driver's seat has many adjustment options, and the quality of materials for higher trims rivals high-end SUVs. However, the Ram 1500's strongest comfort-oriented feature is its excellent ride quality. No pickup truck has a smoother suspension system than the Ram. The 2025 Silverado's cabin is also spacious and comfortable. Although it provides a smooth ride, it can't compare to the Ram's.
Both the 2025 Ram 1500 and the 2025 Silverado 1500 are great choices for those in the market for a light-duty pickup truck. The Ram 1500 is arguably the better of the two, mainly due to its excellent ride quality and powerful engine lineup.
